Tanvex BioPharma, Inc. and its Affiliates (collectively, “Tanvex”) respects the privacy of the visitors to our website (the “Website”). Tanvex has prepared this Privacy Statement to describe Tanvex’s practices regarding the personal information Tanvex may collect from users of the Website.

Tanvex may also collect information provided upon signing up for an investor presentation or when submitting an application for employment via the Website, or when contacting Tanvex via e-mail for information or assistance, including the content of any e-mails to Tanvex.

 

As used on this Privacy Statement, the term “personal information” also includes “personal data” as described under Section 3 of this Privacy Statement for residents of the European Union.

 

Tanvex may from time to time utilize website analytics services, such as Google Analytics. Some website analytics services may provide Tanvex with technical data related to Website visitors, such as ISP address, type of browser, type of device, network name, pages visited, etc.

 

Tanvex may use the information provided to: perform any activity required by law; contact you; provide support, products and services; operate and improve our Website, including conducting website analytics and market analysis, products and services; process employment applications (which may, to the extent permitted by, and in accordance with, applicable laws and specified in any employment application, include conducting certain appropriate background checks using third-party services) and respond to comments and questions.

 

The “Investors” portion of the Website and the job postings on the “Careers” portion of the Website are or may be provided by third parties that may collect, use and disclose information regarding interaction with those pages.

 

2. Disclosure of Personal Information

 

a. Tanvex may share some or all of the personal information obtained with its parent company, subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other companies under a common control (“Affiliates”), in which case Tanvex will require their Affiliates to honor this Privacy Statement. Tanvex may also share the personal information obtained with certain professional advisors who will be subject to confidentiality or privilege rules, such as attorneys.

 

b. Personal information obtained may be hosted on third-party databases that are used by Tanvex to operate the Website, or that are integrated into the Website, such as Amazon Web Services, Google Analytics, Automatic Data Processing, and other third-party services. These third-party services may change from time to time. You may request for additional information concerning what third-party services and platforms Tanvex uses to operate the Website.

Information regarding the transfers of personal data outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) Tanvex BioPharma USA, Inc. is headquartered in the USA and the Website is hosted in the USA. Tanvex’s parent company, Tanvex BioPharma, Inc. has headquarters in Taiwan, which is also outside of the EEA. The laws of the USA and Taiwan have not been deemed by the European Commission to provide an adequate level of protection to personal data.

 

When personal data is provided to Tanvex via the Website or when contacting Tanvex by e-mail, you are providing your personal data directly to the USA. Your data may also be shared with or accessible by Tanvex’s parent company in Taiwan.

 

Before providing personal information to Tanvex via the Website, Tanvex requests your explicit consent to the transfer of your personal data to the USA, Taiwan and Switzerland. When e-mailing Tanvex, or when using any other method of communication set forth on this Website to communicate with Tanvex, the fact that you have chosen to e-mail Tanvex, or use any other method of communication with Tanvex, knowing that Tanvex BioPharma USA, Inc. is located in the USA and that its parent company, Tanvex BioPharma Inc., has an office in Taiwan, will be understood to constitute an express consent to the transfer of the personal data in your e-mail (including your e-mail address), or other method of communication (including telephone number via call, or text) to the USA and Taiwan.

 

Regardless of the differences in US and Taiwanese privacy laws, Tanvex intends to safeguard your personal data as described in this Privacy Statement and as required in accordance with applicable law. If Tanvex transfers your personal data to a third party, Tanvex requires the third party to commit contractually to process your personal data only in ways that are consistent with this Privacy Statement.

The period for which the personal data will be stored, or the criteria for determining the retention period How long Tanvex retains personal data varies according to the type of data in question and the purpose for which it is used. Tanvex deletes personal data within a reasonable period after Tanvex no longer needs to use it for the purpose for which it was collected or for any subsequent purpose that is compatible with the original purpose. This does not affect your right to request that Tanvex delete your personal data before the end of its retention period. Tanvex may archive personal data (which means storing it in inactive files) for a certain period prior to its final deletion, as part of Tanvex’s ordinary business continuity procedures.
